After starring many movies in Bollywood, Vidya balan debuts in a Malayalam movie as an item girl.
The actress has accepted a role in the movie URMI, which is directed by Santosh Sivan.

Malayalam cinema URMI is based on an historical event which is based on the great explorer Vasco De Gama and his stepping in Kappad, which is near to Kozhikode. Actor Prithviraj will be seen in a role of a leader of a group, who is against Vasco de Gama and Vidya Balan will be playing the role of an item girl, who is hired for entertaining Vasco de Gama.
