Thalaivan Irrukiran is the next movie to be Directed by Kamal Haasan. The cast crew are Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal, Saif Ali Khan, Trisha, and Venkatesh. Music will be composed by A.R Rahman.

Haasan was indeed keen on working with the Malayalam superstar, Mohanlal for a long time. When Haasan narrated the script to Mohanlal, he was very impressed and also was keen on acting with Haasan as well. Lal had been signed on to the project. Also confirmed to be in the cast is Saif Ali Khan, and Telugu actor, Venkatesh.

As far as heroine casting is concerned, numerous websites and news report that Trisha, who had given 200 days for Marmayogi had been signed onto this film. However, Mumbai Mirror and other sources claim that actress Tabu is signed on instead opposite to Venkatesh. It is unclear whether she is an additional heroine for the film or Trisha Krishnan's replacement.
